He also wrote poetry for Nagari Das by his pen name. His love for Krishna blossomed due to a shared interest in singing, poetry and devotion. He also wrote a poem by the name of Mrs. Rasikbihari's pen. Later, he commissioned his artists to show their love-like relationship between Radha and Krishna. Both lovers died in the 1760s. He has two chhatris near the Nagri head temple.

Style and theme of Bani Thani

The "arched eyebrow, lotus-like long eyes and pointed chin" are reminiscent of Indian sculptural art, the Kishangarh school is notable for its long style of art. Kishangarh is influenced by Bundi painting in the use of succulent flora. Ghostly night sky, vivid movement and Mughal painting are in use with its side-profile portraits, although it can differ from both due to its very subtle details, colorful color and fine technique.

Raja Sawant Singh was a member of the Vallabhacharya sect devoted to Krishna, which led to the development of religiously themed paintings in the court under his patronage. The painting of the Kishangarh school is characterized by a religious fervor and may be the reason why the depiction of the queen was compared to Radha's figure.

Make-up heroine

Within the Ashta heroine classification system of heroines, Bani Thani is identified as the Vasakasja heroine type, with an element of Shringar Ras (romantic love). Therefore, the painting reveals emotional and romantic elements of the legend. She is portrayed with all elements of makeup and exaggerated facial features that are unrealistic but striking. This style of painting later became the standard of beauty in all later paintings of the Kishangarh school.
